Hotel secured ----- Crown Plaza San Antonio Riverwalk.
$109 per night, Single or double with breakfast option.
$99 per night, Single or double without breakfast option.
Rates are also good three days before and after reunion, if any decide to arrive early or leave later.
Hotel is directly on the Riverwalk (north); there is a "water taxi" at the front door. :)

After many and varied conversations (via phone and in person) between Jack and myself - and with Larry Powers, the only volunteer host to step forward, in full agreement - it has been determined that Rota Marine reunions should be held in different parts of the country on as close to a rotating basis as possible. So far, we have had one on the West Coast, three on the East/South Coast and none in the Central region. In all, we determined that any Rota Marine will see the wisdom of rotating locations so, in the interest of keeping the reunion alive, the following three-year plan has been drawn:
2012 reunion of the Rota Marines
When ...... Thursday, 4 October to Monday, 8 October.
Where ..... San Antonio, Texas (Riverwalk hotel to be announced)
Bids are being prepared by various hotels; itinerary is being worked on; schedules being drawn.

2013 reunion of the Rota Marines
When ...... Saturday, 9 November to Friday, 15 November (Duration is approximate, may be less)
Where ..... Aboard ship, at sea, ports of call to be determined (Embark/disembark in Florida)
We will be at sea for our 238th birthday. :)
Cruise line to be determined, precise itinerary to be determined.

You may immediately begin confirming whether you will or will not attend in San Antonio. Please let us know one way or the other. As for 2013 and 2014, we are still far enough away that immediate responses are not necessary. Hope to see some new faces. :)
